ESRC Centre for Economic Learning and Social Evolution (ELSE)
Pollination Campaigns have just been engaged as communications consultants to Economics Learning and Social Evolution (ELSE) research centre based at UCL.
ELSE is an devoted to the study of those areas of human behaviour in which
economics and psychology come together. The Centre was founded by Ken Binmore
in 1995, and has recently been given a further five years of core funding
by the ESRC. Psychologists and economists are concerned with substantially
the same questions about behaviour: What motivates people? How do motivations
guide our actions? How do we learn about new environments? How do we store
and use information? And how do these issues affect individual and collective
outcomes?
Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) it is essential that alongside its research, ELSE has an impact the companies and consumers it works with, as well as policy makers and opinion formers. Pollination Campaigns will work with the centre to develop a comprehensive communications plan and their work in a number of areas.
ELSE is the second ESRC funded research project at UCL that Pollination Campaigns supports. Over the last year Pollination Campaigns have worked with the Deafness, Cognition and Language (DCAL) research centre on a variety of activities including: submitting a response to the Department for Communities and Local Government's Green Paper on the Single Equality Bill, ensuring they can feed into the Bercow speech, language and communication review and securing a House of Commons event, sponsored by All Party Group on Deafness Chair, Malcolm Bruce MP. The distribution of DCAL’s newsletter has been increased to include a greater number of influential politicians and policy makers, and regular information about the centre’s activities supplied to National and specialist press and information websites.
Pollination Campaigns is looking forward to working with ELSE over the coming year to ensure that people know about the importance of it’s work.
